Test anxiety can have a negative impact on a student's ability to perform during a test. Test anxiety itself can lower test scores by up to 12%. This means that students who experience high levels of test anxiety may struggle to perform to the best of their abilities, even if they have prepared extensively for an exam.

Nicole Teague: Teacher and Mother
I teach third grade (children ages 8-9) and I also happen to be the mother of two eight-year-olds. This course does exactly what it was designed to do by helping children in a way that is child centered. I love that it starts off by helping children realize they are not alone in feeling test anxiety. Katie has found a way to talk about anxiety while still being both comforting and encouraging. She explains what test anxiety is, what it looks like, how to prepare, what to do during a test, and what to do after. Every child is so different and therefore they each require different skills. Katie gives a wide variety of options so that there is a skill and preparation that every single child can use. I see test anxiety in my classroom every single year as well as in my home with my own children. To have this course available to use in my classroom, with my students, is extremely powerful. I think it would also greatly benefit parents and teachers to have this information as they go through the course with their children so they can know how to best support them. Taking tests can be very stressful because the students have a desire to do well. As teachers, we want to nurture that desire and help them really show what they know and not let anxiety negatively influence their learning. This course is a fantastic resource and I am looking forward to using it regularly in both my classroom and at home.

I learn some helpful tips on what to do when I get nervous before a test. I learned that it’s okay to be nervous, but to be prepared the best I can will help me on my test. I will definitely use these tips for sixth grade!

We loved the course! So many helpful things for kids to know and to implement. It was good for my daughter to hear these things from someone other than her mom. We now have lots of printouts and food ideas to use for these stressful tests. Can’t wait to use these tips and tricks!
